SINGPEX'98

Singpex'98 is the 12th Asian International Philatelic Exhibition held at Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Suntec City, Singapore from July 23 to 26, 1998. Around 800 frames of world class exhibits and non competitive class that held under patronage of FIAP (Federation of Inter-Asian Philateliy).

Indonesia participates in featuring Sumatra Tiger (Panthera Tigris) as a memory to prince from Sumatran empire of Sriwijaya who founded and named the city of Singapore (Lion City).

The object is drawn lovely in a souvenir sheet of Chinese style. The selection of the design is in accordance with the Chinese calendar of the Year of Tiger and it also the first ethnic visualization in the Indonesia stamp history.
